Luis Sierra Muntané
I’m a PhD Student in Statistical Sciences at the University of Toronto, where I am fortunate to be advised by Elena Tuzhilina. My research focuses on High-Dimensional Statistics, Tensors, and Convex Optimization. I build methods that find patterns in noisy systems with many variables.
Before joining UofT, I graduated with a double degree in Mathematics and Data Science from UPC supported by a CFIS scholarship, during which I had the great opportunity of working at the University of Toronto under a CFIS international mobility scholarship with Piotr Zwiernik. I also received a Master’s in Applied Mathematics from UPC while working with the research group INTERACT, advised by Ariadna Quattoni.
I have the honor of currently serving as the President of the Statistics Graduate Student Union and coordinator of the Statistics Directed Reading Program.
